Rooted in Science and Artistry:How I Design Natural Permanent Brows and Lips

My name is Kasia Herdman and at Blush PMU, my work is guided by a philosophy that goes far beyond technique. Permanent makeup is not simply about placing pigment in the skin. It is about truly understanding faces, respecting the body, and honoring the person sitting in front of me. Every step of my process is intentional, gentle, and rooted in both science and artistry.

One of the core principles of my approach is how I map brows and lips. I always map while you are sitting upright because this is how your face exists in real life. It is the position you are in 90 percent of the day, the way people see you, and the way your skin naturally rests on your features. When we map sitting up, we design brows and lips that harmonize with your natural expressions, muscle movement, and everyday posture, not just how your face looks lying flat on a table.

With lips in particular, I am very mindful of anatomy and skin health. I only tattoo within the natural lip tissue and I never cross over the integrity of the lip line onto surrounding skin. This protects your skin, reduces the risk of irritation or scarring, and keeps results soft, clean, and truly natural rather than outlined or artificial.

I also deeply believe in working with the skin, not against it. That is why I always complete permanent makeup in two sessions. Your skin is a living organ, and it deserves patience and respect. The first session is intentionally conservative and thoughtful. We create a soft, beautiful foundation, allow your skin to heal, and then refine in the second session. You can always add more depth, color, or definition later, but you can never take it away once it is there. This approach keeps your results natural, safe, and tailored to how your skin actually heals.

Another cornerstone of my work is my commitment to the highest quality pigments. I choose Clinita because of their precision, consistency, and long-term stability. Their formulations allow for beautiful healed results that age gracefully rather than shifting unpredictably over time. I trust Clinita because I want my clients to feel confident not just on day one, but years down the road. Your brows and lips deserve pigments that are crafted with care, integrity, and advanced science.

My background is in art, and that deeply shapes everything I do. I do not see permanent makeup as just a procedure. I see it as a form of portraiture on living skin. This is especially true with Nano Brows, where every hair stroke is placed with intention, rhythm, and balance, much like drawing or painting. Every face is different, every feature is unique, and every expression carries meaning.

My goal is never to impose a look, but to enhance what is already beautiful about you. I design with balance, softness, and intention so your features feel elevated, not overpowered. Even with techniques like Powder Brows, which can feel bold at first, I design them to heal softly and naturally so they complement your face rather than dominate it.

Most of all, I am deeply grateful for my clients and their stories. Each person who sits in my chair brings a piece of their life, their history, and their trust with them. Listening to those stories has changed me as an artist and as a person. I also take great pride in my technique, constantly practicing, learning, and investing in continuing education while always prioritizing long-term skin health over quick, highly edited before-and-after images for Instagram. It is truly an honor to be invited into such an intimate part of someone’s journey. Your confidence, your healing, and your joy matter to me far beyond the appointment itself.

Permanent makeup is not just what I do. It is how I care, how I create, and how I connect. At Blush PMU in Acworth, my work is rooted in science, guided by artistry, and grounded in gratitude for your trust.
